Vaccination Campaign Launches in Al Ain on Tuesday

Al Ain: Pet parents who own small cat and dog breeds have been invited to a rabies vaccination campaign in Al Ain on Tuesday.

The Al Ain Municipality announced the same on the platform ‘X’, inviting pet parents to visit the main theater at Bawadi Mall from 4pm to 10pm for the vaccination.

As per the Center of Disease Control, rabies is an infectious viral disease that causes acute encephalitis in all warm-blooded hosts and is nearly always fatal, which is why prevention through vaccinations is so important. Since owners may not always recognize when their pet has been exposed to rabies, vaccinations are crucial. Rabies vaccinations are also crucial for pet travel globally, being an import and export requirement in most countries.

Early signs of a rabies infection include abnormal behaviour, lethargy, vomiting, fever, self-mutilation, rapid progression to cerebral and cranial nerve dysfunction, paralysis, seizures, swallowing difficulties and excessive salivation.
