Abu Dhabi to Host Free Pet Lovers Gathering from Sept 25 to 27

Abu Dhabi: Pet owners in Abu Dhabi can look forward to a free three-day event as the Abu Dhabi Pet Lovers Gathering 2026 returns from September 25 to 27. Organised by Abu Dhabi City Municipality, the sixth edition will be held at Al Shamkha Square from 5pm to 9pm each day. Entry is free, and visitors do not need to register in advance. 

The event will feature interactive activities, awareness workshops, entertainment shows, a community market and pet adoption opportunities. Pet owners can also access pet registration services, including registration for previously unregistered animals. Free animal examinations will also be available during the gathering. 

Cats, dogs and birds can be brought to the event, subject to the municipality's requirements. Participating animals must be registered, fall under the pet category and be free from disease, according to the event information.

Several organisations will also participate, including Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital and Emirates Park Zoo. Abu Dhabi Police is expected to showcase police dog demonstrations during the event. This year's gathering will also mark the first time the event is being held at Al Shamkha Square. Previous editions were hosted in Khalifa City and Al Falah.
