Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through its Municipal Services Sector - Animal Welfare Department, has called on pet shop owners and workers to strictly adhere to regulations governing the sale, care, and sheltering of animals under the Animal Welfare Law.
As part of its efforts, the department’s team conducted visits to multiple pet shops to educate owners about compliance requirements. These include ensuring a safe and healthy environment, providing adequate veterinary care, and upholding ethical standards in animal welfare. Officials emphasized the importance of proper nutrition, hygiene, and responsible pet handling to prevent neglect or mistreatment.
The initiative highlights Abu Dhabi’s commitment to improving animal welfare standards, ensuring pets receive the care they need while holding businesses accountable for ethical practices. The municipality continues to monitor compliance, reinforcing the importance of humane treatment and responsible pet trade across the city.
